Well, I updated to the most recent version of wordpress. Then my wpg2 plugin needed to be updated; however, that required a gallery2 update. So I think everything is now at the most recent version, and the gallery is now much cleaner.
The reason behind all of these updates was compatibilty with the wordpress iPhone app. This means that I will be able to provide live updates from shows.
